Once the system is installed and primed, daily use of a Berkey system is very straightforward. It operates solely by gravity and requires neither electricity nor pressure. The principle always remains the same: fill, let filter, use.

Day to day, simply fill the upper chamber with water. The water flows naturally into the lower chamber, where it is ready to use. Filtration time depends on the number of filters installed and the water level, but no special handling is required.

For optimal use, keep these essential points in mind:

→ Refill the upper chamber as soon as the level drops
→ Let the water filter naturally without forcing it
→ Use the filtered water directly from the tap
→ Clean the chambers regularly to keep the system clean

The system can remain in continuous operation. There is no need to empty the water between uses, except during cleaning or extended periods of inactivity.
